Larissa M. Hauck is a visual artist currently based in Treaty 6 Territory (Edmonton, AB). She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction from the Alberta University of the Arts (2014) combined with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary (2023). Through painting, Larissa explores identity, belonging, queer femininity, and the lasting imprint of religious trauma, examining how personal experience is shaped by systems of belief, social expectation, and wider cultural narratives. Her practice seeks to make the unseen seen—probing the complexities of visibility, subjectivity, and what it means to be truly perceived.

Artist Statement
Through the exploration of visual storytelling, Larissa Monique Hauck confronts the complexities of queer feminine identity contrasted with the resilience of the natural world. Rooted in self-portraiture, her work asks what it means to see and be seen as a woman in a culture that renders feminine bodies both desirable and disposable.
